Seems like the CFMoto 300NK is getting a scrambler-like sibling
Chinese bikemaker CFMoto is all set to launch a new 250cc naked motorcycle, as revealed in leaked approval documents. It will apparently be called the 250 CL-X, the nomenclature suggesting it’s a more affordable, toned down version of the newly introduced 700 CL-X.
And this is backed up by the design of the motorcycle. With a similar headlight design, tall handlebar, and ribbed single-piece seat, the 250 CL-X clearly borrows its design cues from the 700 CL-X. But since this will be an entry-level offering, the alloys, USD fork, and tank, all seem more budget-y.
Not only this, the new 250 CL-X borrows a lot from its streetfighter siblings too. The frame, swingarm, forks, wheels, brakes, and most importantly, the 249cc engine, are all borrowed from the 250NK. This means the 250 CL-X isn’t Euro-5 compliant yet, but CFMoto will probably introduce a 300cc variant soon with the 300NK’s 292cc engine. After all, the 292cc engine is essentially the same as the 250NK’s, but with more cubic capacity to meet the Euro-5 norms.

The homologated specs also give away that the 250 CL-X has a wheelbase of 1365mm (5mm longer than the 250NK) while rolling on a 150-section rear tyre (10mm wider than the 250NK) and weighing 155kg.
In the features department, the bike seems to pack a circular instrument cluster (similar to the TFT unit on the 700 CL-X) and all-LED illumination.
Overall, the bike looks finished and all set for production, hinting at an imminent launch. And once the 250 CL-X rolls out, we expect CFMoto to introduce its 300cc Euro 5-compliant variant, which has high chances of coming to India.
