While it gets the same motor, a document reveals that it’ll be bigger than its standard sibling
India’s top-selling manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp is working on a Rally Edition of the XPulse 200 4V. As the name suggests, it’ll be an off-road focused variant of the XPulse 200 4V. While the company has been tight-lipped about details, a recent type-approval document reveals some interesting facts about the upcoming bike.
Interestingly, the document says that the Rally Edition will be sold as a new variant altogether. Mechanically, the Rally Edition is unchanged, still making19.1PS from its 199.6cc single-cylinder, four-valve air-and-coil cooled motor. While the torque figures haven’t been revealed in the type-approval document, more torque would be highly appreciated by off-road riders. But more likely than not, it’ll make the same 17.35 Nm as the standard bike.
But this is not merely an XPulse with the optional Rally Kit slapped on. What’s mainly different is the size. The Rally Edition seems to be a bigger motorcycle with a 1,427mm wheelbase and a length of 2,255mm. To give you context, the XPulse 200 4V has a wheelbase of 1410mm and is 2222mm long. In fact, the wheelbase is even longer than the standard bike with the Rally Kit installed. Other than that, we suspect the bike will get more suspension travel (which would seem to account for the increased wheelbase), handlebar risers, knobby-pattern tyres and a longer side-stand to account for the additional height.
While we don’t have any details about its launch yet, we expect the variant to be launched sometime later this year. The XPulse 200 4V retails at Rs 1,32,350 (ex-showroom Delhi), , with the Rally Kit costing an additional Rs 46,000. So we expect that this Rally Edition will carry a small premium over the cost of the XPulse 4V with the Rally Kit installed.
