The discounts will be as high as what is being currently offered on the remaining BS4 G 310 R and G 310 GS stock
- Sources indicate the BMW G 310 R BS6 And G 310 GS BS6 will be launched by September this year.
- Remaining BS4 stock of the G 310 R BS6 and G 310 GS are currently available with heavy discounts.
- The new BS6-compliant 300cc BMW’s will mostly make the same power and torque as the BS4 models.
BMW will be launching the G 310 R BS6 and the G 310 GS BS6 with massive price cuts. According to sources, both upcoming BS6-compliant motorcycles will cost Rs 75,000 to Rs 85,000 less than their BS4 predecessors. With these discounts, BMW could price the G 310 R BS6 at Rs 2.75 lakh and the G 310 GS BS6 at Rs 3.30 lakh (both prices on-road Mumbai). Both BS6-compliant motorcycles will be launched by late-August/early-September.
These price cuts are almost equal to the current discounts being offered on the remaining BS4-compliant stocks of both 300cc motorcycles. BMW sells the BS4 versions of the G 310 R and G 310 GS at Rs 3.47 lakh and Rs 4.04 lakh respectively. After discounts, the BS4 BMW G 310 R costs around Rs 3.11 lakh while the BS4 G 310 GS retails for Rs 3.61 lakh (all prices on-road Mumbai). However, these are dealer discounts and may vary depending on the dealership.
Like the TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 with which both BMW motorcycles share their motor, power and torque are expected to remain the same as their BS4 predecessors. The BS4-compliant 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor currently delivers 34 PS and 28Nm. The six-speed gearbox could be updated with a slipper clutch though. We suspect the new price tag could be introductory pricing to entice new customers and could be increased later in the year. With these price cuts, the BMW G 310 R would be priced substantially lower than the KTM 390 Duke BS6 (Rs 3.07 lakh) while the BMW G 310 GS would be priced below the KTM 390 Adventure (Rs 3.59 lakh) (all prices on-road Mumbai).
