The streetfighter has been spied for the very first time and is based on the Apache RR 310’s platform
At the very beginning of July, a surprising spy photo has emerged on the internet. It is the first glimpse of a new streetfighter motorcycle from TVS, most likely the TVS Apache RTR 310. This new bike will be based on the same platform as the TVS and BMW Motorrad's 310cc models.
The TVS Apache RTR 310 is not simply a rebranded BMW G 310 R, and instead features a completely new design. It looks aggressive and sleek, with a muscular fuel tank, tank extensions, and a raised pillion seat. The side panels resemble those of other naked bikes in the Apache lineup, such as the TVS Apache RTR 200.
While the front of the bike is not fully visible in the spy photo, the headlight bears a resemblance to the Suzuki GSX 8S. It also showcases a unique twin LED taillight design and fenders with a carbon finish. Interestingly, the spied version includes a Proto exhaust, but we’re fairly certain that it will not be present in the final production model.
Although we can’t see too many details underneath the bodywork, the bike seems to be running on the same steel trellis frame with a bolt on subframe like the TVS Apache RR 310, but it’s harder to spot under all the extra panels this bike runs. It is equipped with an upside-down fork and a monoshock suspension setup, which are likely adjustable, adding a touch of premium quality. The bike also features disc brakes on both ends, and it is expected to come with dual-channel ABS as standard. Additionally, it seems to be running on Michelin tyres.
Powering the Apache RTR 310 will be the same 312.7cc reverse-inclined single-cylinder engine found in the BMW G 310 R, G 310 RR, G 310 GS, and Apache RR 310. It is expected to produce around 34PS of power and 27.3Nm of torque, and it may come with multiple riding modes.
Earlier this year, TVS announced its plans to launch more bikes in the 225cc to 350cc segment. The Apache RTR 310 is likely to be the first bike to come out of this plan. It is expected to be launched later this year and compete against motorcycles like the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G 310 R, and Honda CB300R. The TVS Apache RTR 310 is expected to have a lower price tag of around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a more affordable option in its segment.
