The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 has been launched in India and it claims to deliver best-in-class mileage with the patented i3S technology.
The leading Indian two wheeler manufacturer today added another new player in India's largest fleet of commuters. Hero Motocorp has launched the Splendor iSmart 110 with its patented i3S technology with a starting price tag of Rs 53,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi). First completely in-house developed product of the company, the bike was showcased at the Auto Expo in February this year. We also reported earlier that the bike has already reached some of the dealerships across the country.
The key highlight feature of the new Splendor iSmart 110, the i3S, is already coming with its 100cc version, which is quite popular in the market. Looking at the success of the technology, the company planned to bring a slightly more powerful version of the bike. The i3S technology is an idle start-stop function which shuts the engine when stopped and it can be started by pulling the clutch lever. The function helps in a bid to improve the fuel efficiency of the bike, claiming best-in-class figures.
Styling of the new Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is a bit different from the 100cc version. There is not any unique style feature like any other commuter motorcycle but it looks better than many other options. It also gets a dual tone paint scheme like the 100cc model but it is a bit different and there are some different colour options as well, namely Silver & Black, Blue & Black, Red & Black and Sports Red.
Powering the bike is a new BS-IV compliant 110cc TOD (Torque On Demand) engine which comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox like all the Hero commuter bikes. The motor makes 9.4PS at 7,500rpm and delivers a peak torque of 9Nm at just 5,500rpm. The company claims that it is the best performing motorcycle in the respective segment with a 0-60kmph sprint time of just 7.45 seconds. Besides the i3S technology, the new iSmart 110 gets 18" Black alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, front telescopic forks, dual hydraulic shocks at the rear and stylish body colour, dual tone rear view mirrors, digital-analog instrument console, and the first-in-class Automatic Headlamp On (AHO).
Looking all the above-mentioned features and the price range, the new Hero Splendor iSmart will challenge the offerings like the Honda Livo, TVS Victor and the Yamaha Saluto RX.
