The first batch of the entry-level ADV has completely been sold out, and bookings for the second lot are open for Rs 10,000
The first batch of the Hero XPulse 200 4V – launched in October last year – has been completely sold out, with Hero MotoCorp now commencing bookings for the next lot. For enthusiasts, XPulse is the most affordable off-road bike, and with the introduction of four-valve tech, the package has only gotten sweeter.
The adventure motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,30,150 (ex-showroom Delhi) and can be booked online on Hero MotoCorp’s website that features a sales platform called ‘eShop’. Customers can book the bike with an advance payment of Rs 10,000 (minimum) and choose between three colour variants: Sports Red, Polestar Blue, and Matte Nexus Blue.
The Hero XPulse 200 4V gets a four-valve 199.6cc engine producing 18.8bhp at 8500rpm and 17.6Nm at 6500rpm. Compared to the previous model, the XPulse 4V gets a 7-Fin oil cooler for better heat dissipation in traffic. Although the bike gets the same gearbox as before, the gear ratios have been reworked for better driveability.

The XPulse 4V gets the same chassis as before, with a 37mm telescopic front fork and suspension travel of 190mm (front) and a 10-step adjustable monoshock with suspension travel of 170mm (rear). With 21-inch and 17-inch wire spoked rims, the bike is as capable on-road as it's off-road.
In terms of features, the motorcycle gets an LED headlight and tail lamp, an LCD instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, Eco mode indicator, gear indicator, and single-channel ABS.
The closest rival to the Hero XPulse 4V is the Honda CB200X, which is priced at Rs 1.44 lakh, about Rs 14,000 more.
While the XPulse is a great entry-level adventure bike, it misses out on dual-channel ABS, which we think should be added. Hero also offers a rally kit for the XPulse 4V at Rs 46,000 for an even better-performing off-roader.
