If the Hero Xtreme 200S 4V does not impress you much, here are some interesting alternatives to consider
Hero has been on a roll with the introduction of updated models, and this week the Jaipur-based bikemaker introduced the upgraded Xtreme 200S 4V at a price of Rs 1,41,250 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 5,890 more than the 2V model. But if you are still unsure if it’s worth the splurge, here are five alternatives at a similar price:
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street - Rs 1,43,373
If your main aim is urban commuting, then the Bajaj Avenger 220 Street is a great option. The Avenger 220 Street is one of India's most reasonably priced cruisers. It sports traditional cruiser looks, with a characteristic single-pod instrument cluster (now digital), with tank-mounted fuel gauge and tell-tale lights. It gets a 220cc air-cooled engine making a competent 19.03PS and 17.55Nm, complemented by a 280mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum, and single-channel ABS.
Yamaha Aerox 155 - Rs 1,44,300
But what if you want a dash of excitement in your commutes, without compromising on practicality? Well, the Yamaha Aerox 155 fits the bill perfectly. It has the same 155cc VVA-equipped liquid-cooled motor from the Yamaha R15 V4, making a strong 15PS and 13.9Nm. Yes, a scooter with a motorcycle engine and handling that’s pretty close to a bike too! Who wouldn’t want that, right?
Ather 450X Pro - Rs 1,48,878
If you want to be environmentally friendly, the Ather 450X Pro e-scooter is the ideal substitute for the Hero Xtreme 200S 4V. The Ather 450X Pro has a lot more features, such as integrated navigation, a touchscreen console and riding modes, and it is equally engaging to ride as well. Of course, being an EV, it will also be cheaper in the long run, considering the rising cost of fuel.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V - Rs 1,46,720
With an Apache, you won't be disappointed if performance is what you're after. From turn-by-turn navigation and ride modes to adjustable suspension, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has a lot to lure you with. Furthermore, it has a peppy engine and handles pretty well too.
Hero XPulse 200 4V - Rs 1,44,776
Accompanying the Apache on this list is the Hero XPulse 200 4V. Hero’s ADV and Xtreme 200S 4V’s sibling is well-suited for our riding conditions and with the new 4-valve engine, it can manage some highway touring too. Plus, if you are looking to hone your off-roading skills, you can opt for the Pro variant, which comes at Rs 1,52,151.
