HMSI sales rises by 2 per cent in March 2011

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) which is pride owner of Honda CBR 250R is keeping good growth in two wheeler sales and in the month of March this year the company reported 2.09 per cent growth in domestic market. The company sold 1,47,301 units of two wheelers in the month of March 2011 against 1,44,288 units in the same month of March, year 2010.
Meanwhile cumulative sales from March 2010 to March this year risen by 30.31 per cent and it sold out 16,56,727 units as compared to 12,71,377 units in the same period of previous year.
HMSI has sold 65,899 units of motorcycles in the month of March this year as compared to 65,888 units in the same month of previous year. While scooter sales risen by 3.83 per cent with sales of 81,402 units in March this year as against 78,400 units in the same month of year 2010.
The company reported 44.06 growth from March 2010 to March 2011 with sales of 7,48,895 units as compared to 5,19,832 units in the same period of previous year. Scooter sales grew by 20.80 per cent with sales of 9,07,832 units in this financial year as compared to 7,51,545 units in fiscal 2009-10.
The Indian Scooter market is dominated by Honda's most popular scooter Honda Activa and after separation of Hero Honda, Honda is ready to grab the number one position in Indian two wheeler market and launching innovative, reliable and value for money bikes in India. It has just launched semi sports bike Honda CBR 250R which is an answer to Kawasaki Ninja 250R.
HMSI includes lots of very well performer bikes in its stable like Honda Twister, Honda Shine, Honda Unicorn, Honda Dazzler, Honda CBR 1000RR etc. Now the company is mulling over to launch a 100cc bike with affordable price range in domestic market against Hero Honda Splendor, Hero Honda Passion Pro, Bajaj Platina 100cc.
