HMSI To Recruit 1500 Personnel For Second Plant In Rajasthan

To achieve the target of number one position in Indian two-wheeler market within one decade; Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is working hard and spreading its wings aggressively. The company is going to start its second manufacturing plant at Tapukara in Rajasthan State of India and the company stated that the production in the plant would be started in the month July-August this year. Therefore the company is going to recruit almost 1,500 workers in the plant.
HMSI is 100 per cent subsidiary of Japan based Honda Motors which is presently ranked fourth in the Indian two-wheeler market but now it has targeted to be number one with the launching of innovative bikes in India. Already the company made announcement of launching 100cc bikes in India to the grab the domestic rural and urban areas.
At present, Honda CB Twister is the basic bike model in its portfolio which is getting buzz response from the customers. Another popular bikes are Honda Stunner, Honda Unicorn and Honda Shine which are also having good market share. The company has also entered in the semi-sports bike segment with the launching of Honda CBR 250R which is an answer to Kawasaki Ninja 250R and upcoming Mahindra Mojo 300. The bike is available in two versions; Non-ABS at Rs.1.43-lakh and ABS at Rs.1.68-lakh.
In this financial year, the company hopes to sell 16.5-lakh units with a jump of 30 per over previous fiscal. And now, it targeted to sell 21 lakh units of the bikes with 27 per cent growth rate as compared to current fiscal.
With hiring of 1,500 workers in the second plant, the company wants to expand its production capacity up to 12 lakh units per year for it, Honda has invested Rs 600 crore in the first phase of the plant. HMSI is to invest Rs 1,000 crore in the second phase.
