We compare two of India's best-selling 110cc scooters via a series of detailed images
The best-selling Honda Activa got a generational update in the form of the Activa 6G. It now gets an all-new fuel-injected motor, better suspension and new useful features. The first-generation Jupiter was already feature-packed and TVS has been updating it from time to time. It got a fuel-injected motor and LED headlamp across all variants in the latest update. Here's a comparison between the two 110cc scooters with detailed images.

The Activa 6G retains the familiar silhouette but now has a larger tail section. TVS has also left the Jupiter's bodywork untouched though it gets two interesting colour options -- Starlight Blue and Royal Wine. The Activa 6G looks premium now but we feel the Jupiter is more striking.
Both scooters feature LED tail lamps but continue to use bulb type tail lamps and turn indicators.
Surprisingly, Honda has skipped the semi-digital instrument console seen on the Activa 5G DLX and instead opted for an analogue unit for the even the top-spec variant od the BS6 scooter. The Jupiter ZX is the only variant to get a semi-digital instrument console. It is more contemporary looking and comprehensive than the Activa 6G.
The Activa gets a combination lock that also allows remote access to unseat storage space and fuel cap release. You get a simple keyhole in the Jupiter ZX.
While the new Honda Activa 6G gets an external fuel filler cap, you still have to get off the scooter to unscrew the fuel cap. On the Jupiter, twisting the key unlocks the fuel cap making it highly convenient to fill fuel.
The Honda Activa 6G gets an all-new 109.51cc fuel-injected motor that delivers 7.79PS and 8.79Nm. It gets an ACG starter-generator that makes starting the motor an absolutely silent affair. The Jupiter meanwhile gets a 109.7cc fuel-injected motor that delivers 7.47PS and 8.4Nm. The Honda Activa 6G's motor is clearly the superior one here. Both get a CVT automatic transmission.
Other than the new motor, the Activa 6G finally gets telescopic forks and a larger 12-inch front wheel. It continues to use a 10-inch rear wheel and drum brakes on both ends. Unlike the steel wheels on the Activa, the Jupiter gets 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends but surprisingly TVS has dropped the front disc brake option in favour of a drum brake. Both scooters get combined braking system.
Both the 110cc scooters get preload-adjustable rear monoshock.
The Honda Activa 6G is available in two variants -- Std (Rs 64,464) and Dlx (Rs 65,964). TVS offers the Jupiter in three trims -- Std (Rs 62,062), ZX (Rs 64,062) and Classic (Rs 68,562, all-prices ex-showroom Delhi). On paper, the Activa 6G DLX scores highly in terms of performance and refinement while the Jupiter ZX is better overall in terms of features and comfort. Post-lockdown, we will be testing both scooter so stay tuned for a detailed comparison road test review.
