The milestone has been achieved 9 months after the model’s launch
Honda launched the CB Shine SP earlier this year. In a short span of just 9 months, the commuter motorcycle has recorded sales of 1 lakh units. As per Honda’s official statement, it is also one of the highest contributors in terms of volume towards the growth of the 125cc category.
Powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 124.73cc engine that produces just under 11PS of power at 7,500rpm and 10.3Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The engine comes paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, unlike the standard Shine, which employs a four-speed unit.
The CB Shine SP is offered in 5 colours – Geny Grey Metalic, Athletic Blue Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Rebel Red Metallic and black. Offered at a price of Rs 62,931 to 64,932 (ex-showroom, Delhi) the motorcycle is available in three variants – DLX, STD and CBS. The range-topping variant comes with a 240mm disc brake up front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear, complete with the combi-brake system for improved stopping power distribution.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Y.S. Guleria, senior vice president – sales & marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., said, “Following the legacy of CB Shine, the CB Shine SP is one of the highest contributors in terms of volume towards the growth of 125cc category (April-August ’16). With appreciation from more than 1 lakh happy customers, CB Shine SP, with an extra dose of sporty style, performance, features and striking looks, offers something very special in the segment.”
