The Honda Rebel 300-based scrambler was unveiled in China in 2022
Honda has patented the design for the CL300 Scrambler in India, and it is a really exciting prospect. But could it come to India? Let’s talk about the bike first.
The CL300 Scrambler was unveiled in China in December 2022 and is based on its bigger sibling, the CL500. It looks rugged and quite capable of taking on the trails, and is powered by a 286cc, liquid-cooled engine belting 26PS, paired with an slip-and-assist clutch.
While we really would have appreciated the CL300 in India, the sad news is that it won’t make its way here. Honda had earlier filed design patents for the Forza 350 as well as the ADV350 maxi-scooter earlier, but neither of them made their way here. So it is likely that Honda just trademarks the designs of its offerings in India to easily secure the legal rights to the names.

That said, if you’re looking for a scrambler-themed bike, Honda does offer the CB350 in India, complete with the optional SUV kit. Other alternatives in the small-capacity scrambler segment include the Zontes GK 350 and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250.
And if you’re a Honda fan waiting for their next bike, you’d be happy to know Honda could be launching a cruiser iteration of the CB350 series in India. Head here for more details. Also, the Japanese bikemaker is set to launch an electric two-wheeler next year in 2024.
