Here's how Honda's pint-sized Africa Twin stacks up against our very own Hero XPulse 200 4V

In September last year, the Chinese market witnessed the launch of the Honda CRF190L. Now, Honda has patented the ADV in India. So before it decides to arrive here, let's see how it would stack up against its primary rival, the Hero XPulse 200 4V.

Starting with the design, while the Hero XPulse 200 4V looks slim and sharp, the Honda CRF190L on the other hand carries a bit of a rugged look, thanks to its larger body panel.

The fascia of both the bikes mounts an LED headlight and a windscreen upfront. The XPulse 200 4V also gets knuckle guards and a sharp beak.

Moving to the side, you'll see that the XPulse 200 4V gets graphics, while the CRF190L gets a clean look, thanks to the solid red, blue and white paint scheme. A few equipment that are identical on both the bikes include a single-piece seat, upswept exhaust, tail rack and an underbelly pan.

On the features front, while the Honda CRF190L only gets a full-LCD instrument cluster and all LED lights, the XPulse 200 4V is offered with toothed brake pedals and a fully digital Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument cluster that displays turn-by-turn navigation, gear Indicator, Eco mode Indicator and call alerts.

Powering the XPulse 200 4V is a 199.6cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that churns out 19.1PS and 17.35Nm. The CRF190L draws power from the Honda Hornet-derived 184.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor that delivers 15.7PS and 15.75Nm.

Talking about the seat height, the Hero XPulse 200 4V measures 825mm, which is 5mm less than the Honda CRF190L.

The ride of both the bikes is taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The braking hardware is also identical as they employ a single disc at both ends. The XPulse 200 4V rolls on 21-/18-inch spoke wheels, while the CRF190L uses a 19-/17-inch spoke wheel setup.

The Hero XPulse 200 4V is priced at Rs 1,30,150 (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Honda CRF190L costs an equivalent of Rs 1.98 Lakh in the Chinese market. While we already have the Honda CB200X in India, will the CRF190L ever arrive? Click here to know more.
