Honda’s entire model lineup has received price hikes and these chic scooters are no exception
If Honda’s new year resolution was to abstain from price hikes, it has broken it already. One week into 2021 and the Japanese manufacturer has increased prices across pretty much its entire model range, including the stylish Dio and Grazia scooters. The smaller 110cc Dio is relatively better off, with prices having gone up by a rather insignificant amount of Rs 259 to Rs 307. As a result, the Dio is now priced between Rs 62,229 and Rs 65,627.
The Grazia hasn’t been quite so lucky, receiving a far more substantial price hike in the range of Rs 1,000. The fashionable 125cc scooter was initially launched from Rs 73,336, but as a result of this recent price hike, the base STD variant now starts at Rs 74,815, with the top-spec DLX variant coming in at a whopping Rs 82,140. This makes it even more expensive than the feature-rich Suzuki Burgman Street in its non-Bluetooth avatar.
This steady upward march of prices is bad news for Indian two-wheeler buyers. Most 110cc scooters feel a little too gutless in the BS6 era, while the 125s are priced in the range of Rs 1 lakh on-road, making it an expensive affair to buy a competent new scooter today. It’s not just scooters, though. Even Honda’s new golden boy, the H’ness CB350, hasn’t been spared from the price hikes. Read about its new pricing here.
