Price hike isn’t too high for the base and mid trims, new Smart variant comes at a premium
Honda has launched the 2023 iteration of the Dio, India’s OG sporty scooter with a bunch of upgrades and an all new Smart variant. The scooter is priced at Rs 70,211, for the standard variant Rs 74,212 for the Deluxe variant and Rs 77,712 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi) for the Smart variant. The OBD 2 treatment commands a premium of Rs 1,586 premium on the standard and DLX variants.
Here are the variants, price and colour details:

Here are the major updates:
Powering the Dio is a BS6.2 emission norms compliant 109.5cc engine which makes 7.76PS and 9Nm (same as before). It also comes equipped with second-generation on board diagnostics (OBD 2).
While the overall design is the same as before, the scooter now comes draped in fresh new colours and sporty graphics. Even the Dio logo has been revised, and looks a bit more snazzy.
A fresh new (much needed) addition are the black alloy wheels (on the Smart variant), which are the same as Honda Activa 125.
It also borrows the same Smart key fob from Activa and Activa 125. Here’s all that it features:
Feature |
Functionality |
Smart Find |
If you’re within 10 metres of the scooter, all the four indicators will flash, letting you know the location of the vehicle. |
Smart Unlock |
The handle, fuel lid and seat can all be unlocked from up to two metres away. |
Smart Safe |
The scooter can be turned on if you’re within two metres. But if the distance increases, the scooter locks itself automatically. |
Smart Start |
Turn the scooter on by simply turning the knob and pushing the start button |
With a bunch of smart new features and updated styling, the Dio has become slightly more wholesome for the current age. However, we would have appreciated a more upgrade in the design and a disc brake at least at the front. It primarily rivals the Hero Xoom 110 scooter, although the Hero scooter is more feature packed and fresh.
