The new Honda Grazia receives much more than cosmetic updates. Here's a detailed look at the new 125cc scooter
Honda has launched its second 125cc BS6-compliant scooter in India in the form of the Grazia. The scooter receives cosmetic updates, a new motor and updated features as well. We take a closer look at this sportier alternative to the Activa 125 by way of detailed images:
The Grazia BS6 continues to use the same apron mounted headlamp design but gets updated bodywork. While the BS4 scooter had a silver finish on the handlebar cover, the new one features a glossy black finish and twin DLR's. The new headlamp unit is sharper and looks more premium than before.
Besides the BS4 Grazia's three existing colour options, the Grazia BS5 gets a new Matte Cyber Yellow paint scheme.
The Grazia BS6 gets a revised tail lamp unit to accommodate the new external fuel-filler cap. It continues to use the same side panels and split grab rails as before.
The ignition console is the same as the Honda Activa 125 and allows you to remotely unlock the fuel filler flap. You still have to manually open the fuel filler cap that needs you to get off the scooter. Fuel tank capacity remains the same 5.3-litres.
While the digital instrument console continues to feature the same layout, it now gets a different interface. Besides a new blue-backlit bottom display, the instrument console now shows important data like real-time and average fuel efficiency and distance to empty. It also gets a side stand indicator along with a side-stand cutoff switch that prevents you from starting the scooter if the side stand is in the down position.
Like all Honda BS6 two-wheelers, the Grazia too gets an ACG starter-generator that offers a silent starting operation.
Another nifty feature is the start-stop system that comes standard in the top-spec Deluxe variant. It automatically shuts off the scooter if you are waiting in traffic in idle for a long time and starts when you twist the throttle. With the help of the ACG starter motor, this operation feels seamless.
The Honda Grazia BS6 shares the Activa 125 BS6's all-new fuel-injected motor. Interestingly, the Grazia motor delivers 8.25PS and 10.3Nm which is 0.04Nm less than the Activa 125. Despite getting fuel-injection, the Grazia BS6 makes less power than the BS4 Grazia's 8.6PS and 10.54Nm.
The underpinnings remain unchanged on the Grazia BS6 except for the 3-step preload-adjustable monoshock. It continues to use telescopic forks and 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels and 90-section tyres.
The base Grazia variant gets a 130mm drum brake upfront while the top-spec Deluxe variant gets a 190mm front disc. Both get a 130mm rear drum with CBS. While the top variant comes with alloy wheels, the base variant gets steel wheels.
The Honda Grazia BS6 is available in two variants: Standard (Rs 73,912) and Deluxe (Rs 80,978, both ex-showroom Delhi). Both variants get a massive price hike of Rs 13,616 and Rs 16,310 over their respective BS4 variants. For that price, you get an all-new motor, new tech features and a fresher look.
