The 2023 CBF190R looks fresh and as incredible as ever
Models from the commuter motorcycle segment are the ones that get sold the most. So, attractive small-capacity sporty bikes are important and updating them is an essential job. Following that idea, Sundiro Honda has updated the CBF190R for 2023 in the Chinese domestic market.
Interestingly, the Honda Hornet 2.0 in India and CBF190R in China are essentially the same bike with a few cosmetic differences here and there. The CB190R is slightly sharper and more attractive than its Indian cousin.
While the updated CBF190R retains its sporty, sharp and attractive design language, it comes with new decals and livery to make it stand out. The red, white and blue livery is now cleaner and calmer with elements of black on the body panels. The internals, engine, exhaust and alloy bits get a dark treatment offering a clean contrast with the primary white shade on the panels. The alloy wheels dipped in blue look quite sporty.

Apart from these differences, the bike remains unchanged and is powered by the same 184.4cc, single cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor making 16.85PS and 16.3Nm. Even the Hornet 2.0 gets the same mill but produces slightly different figures at 17.27PS and 16.1Nm.
Underpinnings on this sub-200cc bike are quite premium, as it features a USD fork and monoshock suspension setup. For braking, it gets discs at both ends with single-channel ABS.
Honda patented the CBF190R in India in 2020, however, the bike is unlikely to come here as the Hornet 2.0 is already on sale at Rs 1,36,311 (ex-showroom Delhi). A worthy alternative to the Hornet is the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
