Honda inaugurates 2nd traffic park in Delhi to promote road safety

Promoting road safety awareness as a responsible corporate, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) today inaugurated its second traffic training park in Delhi at the strategically located Baba Kharak Singh Marg, making it convenient for Delhi/NCR Region to be aware on road safety as well as learn safe two-wheeler riding.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by chief guest Mrs. Vimla Mehra- IPS (Special Commissioner- Administration, Delhi Police), Mr. Muktesh Chander- IPS (Special Commissioner- Traffic, Delhi Police), Mr. Anil Shukla (Joint Commissioner of Police- Traffic, Delhi Police), Mr. Sharad Agarwal (Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic (Ops.), Delhi Police), Mr. Keita Muramatsu (President & CEO, HMSI) and Mr. Y S. Guleria (Vice President- Sales & Marketing, HMSI).
Honda has adopted and done a complete makeover of Baba Kharak singh marg traffic training park. This is spread over 1172 square meters. Here, Honda’s skilled safety instructors will conduct road safety education for all age groups starting from 5 years children to adults, with a special focus on new and female riders.
Sharing Honda’s experience in promoting road safety in Delhi, Mr. Keita Muramatsu said, "In just one and half years, Honda has educated over 85,000 people across India at our 5 Traffic Training Parks in Jaipur, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Yeola (Nasik). Of this, a significant 27,000 were Delhi citizens who were educated on safe riding at Roshanara Bagh!. Further, Honda has today adopted its second traffic training park so that more people in Delhi/NCR to be aware on road safety as well as learn safe two-wheeler riding. People can conveniently learn to ride two-wheeler safely by Honda’s skilled safety instructors.”
Sharing insights into a new trend of females on their independent mobility, Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria said, “For us, most overwhelming was the enthusiastic response of Delhi women who came forward and enrolled themselves to learn 2 wheeler safe riding program. From 18 year old college students to 45 plus home-makers and working women, over 2100 females enrolled in our Delhi traffic park. To facilitate the same Honda has launched Dream Riding – a safe riding initiative exclusively for females.”
Dream Riding is a lifeline for every female in Delhi who desire to become independent and empower themselves through mobility. Under this initiative, any female in Delhi can now learn how to correctly and safely ride a two-wheeler in 4 hours! They have to simply drop a mail to: dreamriding@ttpdelhi.in and Honda’s safety instructors will contact them for safe riding two-wheeler program.
Key highlights of Honda’s activities at Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Roshanara bagh traffic parks are:
- Expert Honda Safety instructors (female & male) to educate new riders on correct riding techniques
- Honda’s Proprietary riding trainers help people above 13 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on road. The virtual experience significantly increases rider’s ability to predict & react to traffic hazards. The same can also provide instructions in Hindi language.
- Imported CRF 50 motorcycle aids 9-12 year kids grasp safe riding concept through practical riding.
- Exchange of road safety know-how – a boon for many existing and new riders
