Honda Lead 125 Might Enter Indian Market- Exclusive

Some of our confidential sources in Honda hinted that the second largest two wheeler manufacturer of the country might consider its 125 cc premium scooter Lead as its flagship brand and can launch it at the upcoming 2014 Indian Auto Expo. If launched it will be a feature rich option for the buyers of premium scooters like Vespa.

Honda lead is powered by a 124.92cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine using advance PGM-FI technology. It delivers 11.33bhp to the rear wheel, using a stepless automatic transmission. The scooter features telescopic forks at the front and Cylindrical springs, hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. Front wheel has been equipped with disc brake, while rear gets the conventional drum brake similar to the other Honda scooters, the braking system uses Honda's CBS (Combi Brake System).

The sporty scooter boasts a very stylish design, taking some design elements from its sibling Aviator, which is already available in India. It has got LED DRLs at the front apron with integrated turn indicators and its sleek rear also geta a LED unit as the tail lamp. The most appealing feature of the scooter is its large boot capacity, you can carry two full face helmets in the under seat space. It features front external fuel fill system with an opening switch, so you don't have to park the scoother on stand for refueling. Another attraction in the scooter comes from its futuristically designed instrument panel with a combination of analog and digital gauges.

Overall, Honda Lead 125 can be a strong competitor for Vespa scooters in India, as it is expected to be priced similar to its VX variant.
