Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India can capture the third place in two-wheeler sales, as suggested by market analytics. The company is planning aggressive marketing strategy to establish itself as mass bike manufacturer. It had launched a 110cc bike in market i.e. Honda CB Twister to test the market and the results are above expectations.
Honda is also developing a 100cc bike for Asian market including India that will be priced somewhere around Rs 27,000. It is also reported to enhance its dealer network to make available its bikes across India. The interesting fact comes out is Honda might outrun TVS Motors that is enjoying third place in two-wheeler sales. It is to be noted that Hero Honda is the largest player in the two-wheeler segment with a sales figures of 3.4 million units in November, 2010 while Bajaj Auto rests on the second place with 2.65 lakh units; TVS Motors sold 1.53 lakh two-wheelers that is only around 24 thousand units higher than Honda's.
It may take long time to grab the third position but Honda scores over TVS when compared with technology and brand name. The company has a large series of commuter, sports and super sports bikes in India and Honda CB Twister, Honda Shine, Honda Unicorn, Honda CBF Stunner and Honda Activa are the flagship models of the company. Now, the company is going to launch Honda CBR 250R by the month of January, 2010.
Yamaha India has a big series of sports bike and getting good response, It has got fifth position. The company has sold 30,310 units in the month of November 2010 compared to 24,600 units last year. The Yamaha R15, Yamaha FZ and Yamaha Fazer are the popular bikes in India by the Yamaha.
Suzuki Motorcycle India is the number sixth largest two wheeler provider in India and is reported huge growth of 76.75% in the month of November 2010 compared to November 2009. It's Suzuki Slingshot is the newly launched vehicle in India. India's number seventh two wheeler company is Mahindra two wheeler that has reported growth of 126% in the month of November 2010 compared to November 2009.
According the Indian two wheeler market analysts, after the divorce of Hero-Honda Group, HMSI is to get great credit with its popular and flagship two wheeler portfolio and will outplay TVS Motors. The company might sit on the no. 3 position in the upcoming financial years, as HMSI sales has crossed 1 million mark with the sales of 1.08 million units during April to November 2010 period while TVS Motors has sold 1.3 million units so this target is not impossible for HMSI. It seems like HMSI will continuously post higher sales growth till the end of this financial year.
