Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd already announced that it will be unveiling a revolutionary product at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016. Now, some reports are suggesting that it could be a new commuter that will come equipped with Idle Start Stop system.

Its rival Hero MotoCorp has already introduced the technology as i3S with the Splendor iSmart and claimed that it helps the bike to return a fuel economy up to 102.5kmpl, making it the most fuel efficient motorcycle in the country. While a few months ago, Honda questioned the claimed efficiency of the motorcycle and some reports came out, suggesting an ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) certified mileage of the bike at just 65kmpl. However, some common tests taken by people in the journalism industry, top fuel economy of the Splendor iSmart recorded up to around 98kmpl with the proper use of i3S.

Coming back to out point, Honda is now planning to make some enhancement in the technology and put it in a new motorcycle. This new product will be based on the successful Dream series or CB Shine or a completely new platform that will clear soon at the Auto Expo along with the claimed fuel efficiency of the motorcycle.

The Idle Start Stop technology help to reduce the fuel consumption during stops. It automatically immobilizes the engine when it is running on idle for more than 5 seconds and you can restart the motor just by pressing the clutch lever. The system helps to improve the overall fuel efficiency of the engine.

For now, this is all we have on the upcoming Honda motorcycle with Idle Start Stop System, stay tuned with us for more information on the same.
