The powerful Honda RC213V-S, or simply the road legal version of Honda’s MotoGP motorcycle was launched a few months back with a whopping price tag of Rs. 1.4 crore. The bike recently got its first customer in UK to which it has already been handed over. Now, an official video of the bike is doing rounds on the web that reveals its rare production process. The footage was uploaded on the YouTube channel of Honda Motors Hongkong in which engineers can be seen involved in its making.
The production process seen in the video is carried out by human hands and the bike is developed in a similar manner to that of MotoGP machines. The philosophy behind this is to provide a pure race track experience to the customer. Honda RC213V-S is basically a MotoGP two-wheeled weapon that has been made road legal by equipping it with head and tail lights, horn, rear view mirrors, muffler with catalytic converter and number plate holder. The gearbox has been taken from the production-spec RCV1000R and coil springs have been used instead of pneumatic actuators for the valves.
Honda RC213V-S draws its power from a 999cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, V4 engine that cranks out 101bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. Built on a diamond frame, the bike has been equipped with Ohlins telescopic gas charged forks up front and Pro-link with Ohlins gas-charged mono shock absorber at the rear. The fierce stopping power is delivered by 320mm twin hydraulic discs with Brembo four-piston calliper at the front and 220mm single hydraulic disc with Nissin twin-piston calliper at the rear.
Honda RC213V-S was under development for three years and has been available for sale from July 13, 2015. Currently, Honda has stopped taking orders for the bike and the entries were closed on December 31, 2015 to maintain the exclusivity. Stay tuned to BikeDekho for latest two-wheeler news and more!
