Honda Rolls Out First Batch Of Activa From New Narsapura Plant

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has today rolled out first batch of India’s Largest Selling Automatic Scooter - Activa from its recently inaugurated third plant at Narsapura, District Kolar (Karnataka). With this speedy ramp up, Honda has started production in the second line at the third plant. Earlier in June’13 Honda’s third plant started production of Honda’s 110cc mass motorcycle Dream Yuga at the first line. In Phase 1, the third plant has a 12 lac unit’s production capacity. Aiming at market leadership, an additional increase of 6 lac units will take annual capacity of third plant to 18 lac units by end of this fiscal year. With this, Honda will significantly increase its cumulative annual production capacity by 64% in just one fiscal - from 28 lac units in FY’13 to 46 lac units in FY’14.

Honda continues to follow its “People Come First” philosophy, and promote Safety as an integral part of its business activities. Road Safety Promotion has been one of Honda's top priorities worldwide since 1970 and today, this effort has spread to include 36 countries including India worldwide. Setting up another landmark in promotion of road safety, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has adopted Traffic Training Park in Delhi at Roshanara Bagh. In association with Delhi Traffic Police and with its unique Lifetime Safety Education, Honda’s skilled safety instructors will daily engage all age groups starting from as young as 5 years to adults with a special focus on new and female riders. Theoretical sessions & riding trainer, will aid young people above 13 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on road. This is second such association within 6 months of adopting the Jaipur Traffic Training Park.
