Honda CB Hornet 160R

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Ltd (HMSI) might sell its upcoming motorcycle, CB Hornet 160R, via an online portal. The company can take e-bookings on the official website or it can collaborate with any other website. Mahindra and Suzuki are already selling two-wheelers through the online path. This will be Honda’s 15th launch in 2015 and is scheduled to take place on December 10. This upcoming produce from Honda will house a 160cc engine which most probably will be borrowed from its sibling, Honda Unicorn. If so, the bike will have 14.5 bhp of power with 14.61 Nm of torque at its disposal. Hornet 160R might replace the CB Trigger which failed to do well in the Indian market.

Hornet 160R will most likely feature a fully digital instrument cluster showcasing speed, trip meter, fuel meter and the current time. Also, there might be 3 variants to the bike which will have single disc brake, dual disc brakes and CBS respectively. The motorcycle will be a part of the entry level sports bike segment and will rival the entire 160cc lineup which includes Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR and Yamaha FZS-FI. Out of these, Apache RTR will be its toughest competition as it is the most powerful bike in the segment generating a maximum power output of 15.2 bhp. In the Indian market, along with the features, the deciding factor of a bikes success remains its price. We expect Honda to price CB Hornet 160R at around Rs. 80,000 to 90,000.
