The CBR250RR is a track-bred version of the CBR250R that is currently on sale across various countries and hence, would be priced at a premium over the latter
Japanese motorcycle maker Honda, after teasing auto enthusiasts across the world for a bit, broke the cover off the CBR250RR in Indonesia. In essence, the CBR250RR is a motorcycle meant for those who frequent race tracks. The motorcycle draws inspiration from the Light Weight Super Sports Concept Honda showed at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The final product has not deviated much from the concept's design and looks.
The CBR250RR comes with a sharp-looking front end and ventilated disc brakes at both front and rear ends. The motorcycle is powered by a twin-cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel-injected 249.7cc engine mated to a six-speed transmission. The CBR250RR features upside down telescopic suspension at the front and a monoshock at the back. The double-sided swingarm of the CBR250RR is made of aluminium. The CBR250RR is 2,060mm long, 724mm broad and is 1,098mm high. It has a wheelbase of 1,389mm and has ground clearance of 145mm. The seat height of the CBR250RR is 790mm. There is a 14.5-litre fuel tank on the bike. The CBR250RR will come in Honda Racing Red, Anchor Grey Metallic and Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic paint schemes.
For the unaware ones, the CBR250RR is the track-bred version of the CBR250R currently on sale in India. Hence, the motorcycle is sure to be priced at a premium over the regular bike once it comes to India (if it does). While most would consider the Ninja 300 and Yamaha YZF-R3 as the CBR250RR's competitors, the Honda motorcycle is in a segment of its own and hence, would be devoid of any real competitors in the market except for the KTM RC390.
