The patent images of a smaller capacity Honda motorcycle are being surfaced over the internet these days. As per speculations, the bike is expected to fall under the 160cc category and has been built on a naked motorcycle platform. With the Hornet 160R launched a few months back in the country, Honda might be working on another option to take on this segment more competitively.

Going by the patent images, the bike looks powered from the same 162cc, air-cooled engine that does duty on the Hornet 160R. The engine cranks out a maximum power of 15.7bhp along with a peak torque of 14.76Nm. From the images, it seems that the bike sits on the same diamond frame that holds the Hornet 160R. The suspension system comprises of upside down forks at the front and a mono shock absorber at the rear. The bike gets clip-on handlebars instead of the flat handlebar that comes in the existing 160cc Honda motorcycles.

The overall body styling of the machine is what makes it stand from the rest. The front end receives a sharp headlamp with a neatly chiseled and aggressively styled fuel tank. It is speculated that the design philosophy will be carried out to higher capacity Honda bikes as well. The stylish aerodynamic tank scoops further enhance the appearance and make the bike come across as really appealing.

With the Unicorn 160 and Hornet 160R already on sale in India in the 160cc category, we believe that Honda will take some time to bring the bike to India. Once launched, the bike will take on the likes of Yamaha FZ-S and TVS Apache RTR 200. Stay tuned for more updates!
