Honda Maha Exchange Mela

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) had organised a three-day Maha Exchange Mela in Ram Leela Ground, Geeta Colony, East Delhi which started from January 22. This event was organised in order to boost the sales of the company as it offered to take old bikes in an exchange offer for the new one. The company also provided benefits of up to Rs. 7,000, which varied depending on the models. The Exchange Mela offered many assistance facilities to the customers like an on-the-spot evaluation of old bikes, easy documentation, instant exchange and extended warranty. Starting from Delhi, Honda is aiming to take this exchange concept to 10 cities across the country by the end of 2016.

Speaking before the event, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said, "Honda's estimates show that only 10% of two-wheeler buyers are exchange customers in the organized market while this figure reaches close to 15% if we take the non-organised sector into count. This is very low considering that the two-wheeler industry has already crossed the 16 million sales mark. We believe that there is a high latent demand for pre-owned two-wheelers. So after the phenomenal success of our pilot project, Honda has taken a strategic decision to venture into a new business territory of pre-owned two-wheelers, with the Maha Exchange Mela."

Honda is all set for the 2016 Auto Expo and has recently teased NAVi which will make its global debut at the event. World’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer had fulfilled the promise of launching 15 new two-wheelers in 2015 and is all set to launch 14 two-wheelers this year. So, we can expect a Honda launch every month.
