If the Swedish Huskies aren’t to your liking, you could check out these bikes around the same price
The quarter-litre Huskies are finally available in India for a price of Rs 1.80 lakh (introductory) which is almost Rs 20,000 cheaper than the KTM 250 Duke it’s based on. Moreover, it complies with BS6-emission norms. While that’s fantastic value for money, the cost will blow up in the near future so we’d hurry up and book one if we were you. That said, if the Vitpilen 250 or the Svartpilen 250 isn’t what you’re looking for, you could check out these bikes around the same price that lets you tap into different genres.
Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP - Rs 1,71,456
If a cafe racer or a scrambler isn’t cutting it for you, you could consider the fully-faired Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. Granted, it’s not down on power, but 26.5PS and 22.6Nm of torque should be good enough for your daily runabouts and weekend getaways. Plus, thanks to a full fairing and a windscreen it’s more aerodynamically efficient. Other talking points include LED lights at the front and back, a full-digital instrument console and a unique oil-cooler.
KTM 200 DUKE BS6 - Rs. 1,72,749
You could also save up on some cash and hop onto the orange bandwagon by opting for the 200 DUKE BS6 instead. It features the same styling cues like the 350 Duke, albeit different paint schemes, and gets a smaller 200cc motor. But don’t let the size of the motor fool you. The 200 Duke’s motor has always been a benchmark in its segment - with precise fueling and enough power to leave your rivals behind post the green light.
Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 - Rs 1,86,811
Love trails? How about one of India’s most-affordable adventure tourers - the Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6? It gets a decent set of off-road kit which includes long-travel suspension, high ground clearance and 21/17-inch front-rear wheel combo which can tackle tough terrains with ease. Plus, there's plenty of bottom end grunt which is perfect for off-road. Its 411cc air-cooled motor is relatively vibe-free and puts out 24.31PS of power and 32Nm of peak torque in its BS6 avatar. Slap on some panniers and you're good to munch some serious miles.
Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 - Rs 1,91,751
The Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 also makes for a good touring companion. The issues that plagued the bike initially have mostly been ironed out in the 2019 iteration. You have a 373.2cc heart running the bike with 40PS of power on tap. More than enough to maintain triple-digit speeds without breaking a sweat. Its LED headlight is one of the best in the segment and will light up even the darkest of roads. At this price point, we think it offers exceptional value for money.
Jawa Perak - 1,94,500
At 1.94 lakh, the Jawa Perak is the most affordable bobber in the country. It features a bored-out 334cc version of the 293cc motor seen in the Jawa and Forty Two, which delivers 30.4PS and 31Nm of peak torque. Power figures aside, it's the way it looks that'll blow you away. An unmistakable single-seat bobber with a stealth black paint scheme with gold highlights. Could it get any more dramatic than this?
