Aspiring riders above 12 years of age can register themselves for the selection rounds out of which 25 riders will be selected for the national championship which will begin in July

JK Tyre, India’s premier tyre manufacturer, has been actively collaborating with vehicle manufacturers in organising a lot of motorsports events in the country for a long time now. The company has now joined hands with Suzuki for a racing championship series. This series will provide an opportunity for new and aspiring riders to showcase their skills and have an insight into becoming a track rider.

The championship will have two categories based on the age of the riders. The first category will span from 12-16 years of age and the second above 16 years of age. 25 riders will be shortlisted among the total applicants who will race in the championship that will commence in Coimbatore in July. The young rookie category will act as a stepping stone towards the international Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup. JK Tyre's alliance with Suzuki will allow the champion of the series to participate in the selection program for the Red Bull Rookie Cup, which can also be considered a portal to the MotoGP championship in Spain.

For easy access to participants from across the country, JK Tyre will carry out the selection rounds in four different cities: Bengaluru in the South (June 4), Aizwal in the East (June 10), Pune in the West (June 18) and National Capital Region in the North (June 25). The names of the shortlisted riders will be announced on June 27. They will then be directed to a training programme in Coimbatore where they will be given technical lessons along with racing classes. The riders will undergo a fitness schedule where every rider's fitness will be personally charted by renowned fitness experts.

JK Tyre’s Corporate Communication & Motorsport head, Sanjay Sharma, said, “We have charted the career of almost all our international racers right from their karting days till now,” pointed out Sanjay Sharma, JK Tyre’s Corporate Communication & Motorsport head. “Now that we have entered the two-wheeler market with our tyres, this is a logical step forward. We want to create champion bikers. In other words, a youngster simply needs to have the talent and the passion for biking. JK Tyre, just like they did for youngsters with karting, and our car and formula racers, we will take care of everything here too. We will even ensure that they are groomed by image managers so that they can appear on world circuits confidently.”
