Kawasaki Celebrates 50 years of Biking in US

Kawasaki celebrated its 50th anniversary of it entering the US market on March 1 in the United States. The company first came into existence in the year 1961, when it started a factory in Japan to build engines for Meguro. On March 1, 1966, the motorcycle company began operations in Chicago, United States. When Kawasaki entered America, it one of the fastest growing market of that time. Starting from an initial market share of 2%, Kawasaki kept on improving. Chicago, being an easy to approach the market for all, was chosen as the headquarters of this brand. After two years, the headquarters was shifted to Gardena, Calif in 1968. Presently Kawasaki Motors Corp. has around 1,000 dealers across the globe offering a wide range of products in different categories including Streetbikes, Off-road, ATVs, MULE utility vehicles, and JETSKI personal watercraft.
Coming to the Indian scenario, Kawasaki is expanding its foothold in the country and has recently opened its 11th dealership in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It has got a lot to offer in superior bikes, with its Ninja series being the most popular among the lot. Two new 2016 models of the Ninja series, ZX-10R and ZX-14R were launched last month with a price tag of Rs. 17.9 lac and Rs. 16.4 lac respectively (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, the 2016 version of H2 has also reached a dealership in Pune and is priced at Rs. 29 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi).
