The Japanese auto major Kawasaki is going to launch a new motorcycle in India on 23rd December, 2013. The company has already sent us the invitation for the launch, however the details of the product hasn't been mentioned in it. However, the best contenders to enter into the Indian market are Z1000 or Z800, or the company might launch both the bikes together like its previous launch in India.
Currently, the company is selling 4 motorcycles in India Kawasaki Ninja 300, Ninja 650R and latest Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-14R, which are launched together in September this year. So, we have only supersport Ninja bikes in our country, and this is the first time when the company will launch bikes in other segment.
Kawasaki makes brutal naked sport machines in the Z series. The new 2014 model of Z1000 was recently unveiled by the company at the 2013 EICMA, which sports a 1,043cc, liquid cooled, inline four. Mated with a six speed gearbox, the engine churns out a maximum power of 142bhp @10,000rpm and a peak torque of 111Nm @7,300rpm. The company has designed the bike with its latest 'Sugomi' design approach, which makes it meaner and wilder than ever before. It also received a major update with LED headlamp units, which are the first time used in any Kawasaki bike.
Kawasaki Z800 is already available for display at the Pune dealership of the company. The Z800's design is based on the 'Sugomi' approach and it looks as brutal and wild as the Z1000. It sports an 806cc, liquid cooled, inline four, which churns out 111bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 83Nm.
The company has also unveiled its new Z250 at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show in November, which shares the platform of Ninja 300 and some design elements of Z800. The bike will take some time to enter the Indian market, however it might be showcased at the upcoming 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
