Kawasaki has updated its retro offering, the W175 SE, with a new Metallic Ocean Blue colour in Indonesia. So the motorcycle is now available in three colours: Ebony, Metallic Ocean Blue, and White. Interestingly, the W175 was recently spotted testing in India, which means we could also get the new colour when Kawasaki finally launches the bike here.
The new Metallic Ocean Blue colour gives the W175 a more premium appearance as compared to Ebony. The new colour comes with golden pinstripes on the tank, blue fenders at both ends, and spoke wheels which go well with the blacked-out persona of the motorcycle.

Besides the introduction of a colour variant, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same as before. It gets fork covers, a chrome cover for the halogen headlamp, and thigh pads. It’s safe to say the baby W175 does full justice to the old-school appeal of its elder siblings.
Adding to its retro nature is a single-pod analogue instrument cluster with a chrome bezel. It displays bare-basic information and gets only three tell-tale lights indicating neutral, turn signals, and high beam. It bears an uncanny resemblance to the indigenous Royal Enfield Classic 350’s instrument cluster.
Coming to the mechanicals, the W175 is powered by a 177cc carburetted single-cylinder motor which churns out 13PS and 13.2Nm. However, if the W175 comes to India, the 177cc motor would probably feature fuel injection, thanks to our stringent norms.
As for underpinnings, the W175 gets a 30mm telescopic fork up front and preload-adjustable dual-shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on 17-inch tyres and employs a 220mm disc at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the rear. While all this isn’t too impressive, the motorcycle’s 126kg weight and 780mm seat height surely are.
If Kawasaki were to launch the W175 in India, we expect it to be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh. It would have no natural rivals in its segment but Yamaha is planning to bring the XSR155 here in the future. Other retro alternatives in the sub-2 lakh rupee category include the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa, Honda H’Ness CB350, and the Honda CB350RS, which was recently launched in India.
