KTM is working on a new mid-capacity 750cc range of motorcycles. It is being developed with the help of its Chinese partner CFMoto and will be manufactured in China. The new 750 range is expected to spawn the new 750 Duke, 750 Adventure and 750 Supermoto T. It is already known that KTM is developing a new 490cc and 890cc range leaving a sizeable gap in between. A 750cc twin-cylinder platform seems to be a good fit for that gap.
The new 750cc range could be a low cost and more accessible alternative to the outgoing 790cc range. Expect the 750cc twin-cylinder motor to have a lower power output and have fewer electronic rider aids. KTM’s sharp KISKA styling is a given.
KTM initially joined hands with Chinese bikemaker CFMoto in 2018 to manufacture the 790 Duke and 790 Adventure for the Chinese market. It has since increased to developing motorcycles together. The first motorcycle to come out of this partnership is the CFMoto MT800 powered by the same twin-cylinder motor as the 790 Duke. The motorcycle will be launched globally by early 2021.
The KTM investor presentation did not specify a timeline for the 750cc range but our conservative estimate would be by the year 2022.
