Locally manufactured Honda CBR650F to be launched in India by early 2015

Riding upon the 'Make in India' appeal, Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India Ltd. is all set to start production of the CBR650F in India. The locally manufactured motorcycle will be launched and sold by the early 2015 with an expected price tag of around Rs. 6 - 7 lakh. The bike will compete with the other mid-weight performance machines in the market like Kawasaki Ninja 650R, Triumph Street Triple R and Hyosung GT650R.
On the sidelines of a foundation stone laying ceremony for its upcoming plant at Vithalapur in Ahmedabad district, HMSI Vice President- Mr. Y S Guleria said, "We announce that (from) next year Honda will start making CBR -650 in India. By this, we will not only open up the skill of our existing manpower but it will also showcase the Honda India's manufacturing quality to the world."
The full-faired track machine- Honda CBR650F comes with one of the most refined 649cc, liquid-cooled, 16-valve, inline-four motor. The fuel injected motor comes mated to a butter smooth 6-speed gearbox to control a power output of upto 87bhp and a peak torque of 63Nm. Bolted on a Twin-Spar steel frame, the bike is a better option in middle-weight performance bike segment in India. It has been designed like a daily superbike so, it will be easier to ride daily as well as on the track.
The bike has all the supersport features including a detailed instrumentation, wide 180/55 rear and 120/70 front radial tyres, dual front and single rear disc brakes and many more. The new Honda CBR650F will be a complete package for the Indian enthusiasts, however, the final game depends on the pricing.
