Bajaj Auto has been closely working with KTM and Husqvarna to develop electric two-wheelers. We have already seen renderings of some electric scooters from the two brands. Now a recent investor meet presentation by KTM-Husqvarna’s parent company included an image of the upcoming Husqvarna E-Pilen electric motorcycle along with the launch timeline for March 2022.

Like the KTM’s, the Husqvarna E-Pilen will be manufactured in one of Bajaj’s manufacturing hubs in Pune and exported to other countries. According to the presentation, the upcoming electric motorcycle will feature 4kW and 10kW electric motor options. That’s in line with the 3KW to 10kW electric platform being jointly developed by the Bajaj-KTM-Husqvarna trio.

The upcoming electric motorcycle gets bodywork similar to the Svartpilen 701 with the same silver-grey colour scheme. It differentiates itself from its petrol powered cousins with a fluorescent coloured powertrain cover. The floating electric motor looks cool but could be replaced with a conventionally mounted one on the production model. It gets unique four-spoke wheels with a trellis frame, and WP upside down forks and a side-mounted monoshock.
The small capacity motorcycle is highly likely to be sold in India as well. Stay tuned for more details on the E-Pilen.
