2019 Honda Activa 125 BS6 Scooter Unveiled

The scooter is Honda's first BS6-compliant two-wheeler in India

Honda has unveiled the 2019 Honda Activa 125. Compared to the older generation model, the 2019 iteration gets a whole new set of features. For starters, the design of the bodywork has been changed subtly and the scooter gets an external fuel filler. The scooter's new semi-digital instrument cluster also comes with detailed information like real-time, average fuel efficiency and distance to empty, which are all segment-firsts. For added practicality, it gets an apron-mounted glove box apart from the 18-litre underseat storage.

Powering the scooter is a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled, fuel injected engine. It comes with Honda's Idling Stop System which switches off the engine in traffic and turns it back on at the twist of the throttle. Another notable feature is the inclusion of ACG starter for a quiet startup.

Honda is yet to reveal the price of its new scooter but we believe it will start from around Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom). For reference, the current-gen Activa 125 is priced at Rs 60,347 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant. Honda confirmed that the scooter will go on sale from the end of September 2019. In a first, the Japanese brand will also offer a standard three-year warranty and an option to extend it by three years too.

All these updates have made the Activa 125 a lot more wholesome than its previous iteration. The new features will help the scooter make a stronger case against other tech-laden 125cc scooters like the TVS NTorq 125 and the Hero Maestro Edge 125.
