New KTM 390 Duke Spied Again

The next-gen 390 Duke will be powered by a Euro 5/BS6-compliant engine

• Expect KTM to unveil the new-gen 390 Duke at the upcoming EICMA.
• The updated 390 Duke is likely to get the same electronics package as the 390 ADV. 
• KTM is also working on an all-new 490cc platform. 

If you are any sort of petrolhead - which, since you're reading this, you probably are - you'd know that KTM is working on the all-new 390 Duke. There are several spy shots out there as ample proof of this. And now, the 2020 iteration has been spotted once again, thankfully sans any camo. 

It seems like the new-gen 390 Duke might be ready for its debut as the test mule looks almost production-ready. So, what new information does this test mule brings to the table? Well, nothing really. We already know the updated 390 Duke will get the most comprehensive update since its launch. 

The 2020 390 Duke gets a new subframe and a new swingarm, but most importantly, the engine will be the same Euro 5/BS6-compliant unit as seen on the 390 Adventure. In the current-gen 390 Duke, this motor makes 44PS and 37Nm of torque and is paired to a six-speed gearbox. 

It is also likely to get a major electronic update, probably borrowing the 390 Adventure's rider aids. Yes, we are talking about lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS.

So, when will KTM launch the all-new 390 Duke? We expect it to make its debut at the upcoming EICMA, where we might also see KTM introducing its new 490cc platform. Sadly, KTM is focusing on BS6-compliant models in India right now. So don’t expect the new 390 Duke anytime soon.
