No upgrades for Suzuki GSX-R1000 as of now

Suzuki, Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has confirmed that it has no plans to replace its GSX-R1000 flagship offering for at least one more year. This news will surely disappoint Suzuki's passionate fans. It has been pondered over that Suzuki GSX-R1000 will be replaced with an all-new offering for the next year, but the company has shunned all these rumors.

The GSX-R1000 generation debuted as the K5 variant in the year 2005 with all new styling, redesigned chassis and engine. Since 2005, Suzuki has been continuously changing its liter-class offering to meet up the market demands. The bike is equipped with liquid cooled 999cc, inline four-cylinder engine that churns out peak power of 188 PS, that is delivered to the rear wheels via 6-speed gearbox with slip clutch assist.
With returning to Suzuki MotoGP, it was anticipated that the next generation of GSX-R1000 will get inspiration from Suzuki MotoGP and will be equipped with the latest technology acquired from leading world class racing. The next generation two-wheeled machine is expected to have cross plane inline-four engine. Since the current model of Suzuki Gixxer lags behind from rivals like Yamaha and Kawasaki, the upcoming model is expected to flare this time in terms of performance, hardware and electronic brilliance.
Suzuki GSX-R1000 is presently available at INR 16 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India.
