The Classic 350 has been Royal Enfield’s best selling motorcycle for quite a while now and also one of the best selling motorcycles in India. However, this year has not been kind to the 350cc motorcycle. Compared to last year’s May sales, the Classic 350 has seen a sales decline of 30 percent, selling 15,149 fewer bikes than last year.
In fact this year, the Classic 350 sales have sort of plateaued. In March this year, the Classic 350 sold 36,428 units followed by 35,196 units in April. The Classic 350’s decline in sales can be attributed to the overall slump in two-wheeler sales. Also, the Classic 350 was mostly bought on its ability as a tourer. The introduction of the new, more powerful and more capable 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 could also have partially affected Classic sales.
Royal Enfield is working on an all-new Classic 350, which was recently spotted testing. This new bike is expected to launch next year. Stay tuned for more updates on the new Classic 350.
