A lighter variant of the Royal Enfield Himalayan was spotted testing recently. Himalayan is specially made as an off-road adventure machine and is a bit difficult to take on daily city rides, so it seems like Enfield is coming with a lighter version of the bike. Himalayan has taller suspension compared to the newcomer, designed by the UK-based engineer and Royal Enfield’s chassis specialist, Harris Performance. The bike has standard front forks and a conventional mud guard, both new features are exactly opposite of the original Himalayan tourer. The new variant would get a scrambler styled design instead of an adventure look. To make daily commuting possible, fuel tank guard and luggage carrier has been removed.

The bike is expected to hold a power of 27 bhp and peak torque of 34.3Nm. Other features which can be seen in the bike are the circular headlamps, LED tail-light, exposed chassis and exhaust and a five-speed transmission. The price of the machine is expected to be around Rs. 2 lakh.
