In conjunction with IIT Indore, the EV maker is focusing on advancing the lifespan, safety and dependability of the battery

Simple Energy has its wheels rolling faster than ever since its e-scooter, the Simple One was spotted testing yesterday and now the firm also announced its association with IIT Indore for the advancement of the battery system.

The Bengaluru based EV maker is working on improving the thermal stability (heat management) and flame redundant characteristics of the Simple One. This is aimed to increase the longevity, safety and dependability of the battery. EVs usually struggle with performance as the optimal battery temperature is crossed. This affects the range as well as the speed.

The Simple One is powered by a 4.5kW motor paired with a fixed and a removable battery unit. Simple claims that the fixed battery takes about 2.75 hours to charge up to 80 percent, and the removable one does it in 75 minutes. Moreover, the company also claims to offer a total range of 203km in Eco mode under ideal driving conditions.

Simple Energy launched the Simple One back in August at Rs 1,09,000. Head here to read more about it. You can pre-book the scooter right now for Rs 1,947 and expect the delivery sometime in early 2022.
