It is powered by the same ‘sloper’ engine from the Hero Splendor Plus, HF Deluxe, and HF100
The Hero Passion Plus makes a comeback, as Hero MotoCorp launched the 2023 edition at Rs 76,301, ex-showroom Delhi. It is powered by the same 97.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled ‘sloper’ engine from the Hero Splendor Plus, HF Deluxe, and HF 100, producing the same 8PS and 8.05Nm. The engine is now OBD2-compliant. The 100cc bike gets 130mm drum brakes front and rear. The seat height stands at 790mm, while the fuel tank capacity is 11 litres.
The design of the new Passion Plus remains pretty much the same as the previous model with snazzier graphics to give it a fresh look. The alloy wheels look a bit sleeker than before, which is a nice touch. It is available in three colour options: Sports Red, Black Nexus Blue, and Black Heavy Grey. Features on the new Passion Plus comprise a side stand indicator, Hero’s patented i3s (idle stop start system) technology (which conserves fuel when the bike is idle on traffic-riddled roads), a lockable utility box, and a semi-digital instrument console with a tripmeter and fuel gauge apart from other run-of-the-mill info. It also gets a USB charging port on the left switchgear.
The Passion Plus is aimed at the premium section of the 100cc commuter class, but it does not offer much for its price tag. If you are looking for a 100cc commuter with premium features, the Splendor Plus XTEC with a price tag of Rs 78,251, ex-showroom Delhi – just Rs 1,950 more than the Passion Plus – makes much more sense as it offers features like a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and side-stand engine cutoff, among others. The 2023 Hero Passion Plus will rival the likes of the Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 100.
