A week long ride Royal Enfield ride across Rajasthan, or the ‘Tour of Rajasthan 2015’, concluded successfully when the convoy reached back to Jaipur on 20th December. The ride was flagged-off on 13th of December and covered more than 2500 kilometers on Rajasthani roads. A group of 25 riders, from different parts of India, rode through an adventurous and challenging course.
Starting off from Jaipur, the convoy covered Mehansar, followed by Bikaner, Jamba village, Jaisalmer and Sam dunes in the first leg of the ride, while the second one included riding from Barmer to Mount Abu, then Puskar and Sambhar Salt Lake before finally coming back to Jaipur.
The course gave a chance to the participants of exploring Rajasthan in its truest form and apart from the scenic backdrop, they got a hands-on experience of riding on sandy patches of the desert. There were a great mix different types of roads ranging from narrow country roads to gravel and sandy roads, offering the riders a challenging situation.
The first leg included riding through the interiors of Rajasthan and basically avoiding the highway. The sandy patches took the longest to cover, but according to the riders they were most fun as they offered a new experience altogether. The second leg of the ride included mostly highways and the hilly roads of Mount Abu. The conclusion of the course was the visit to the Sambhar lake, which included riding through the salty lake bed, which was one of the many interesting stretches of the ride.
