It is likely to be based on the Honda CB300F & we hope it’s not a mere slap-on job
Fast adventure tourers are great for India and it’s a fact. Their long-travel suspension and ground clearance make them practical. And that, coupled with a good engine, translates to plenty of fun. Honda, seemingly, is now looking to get a piece of that pie with an ADV based on the CB300F.
That does mean, though, that the fast factor that we talked about earlier could be missing, but the bike’s easy-to-ride tractable engine would do well in a tourer! What we do hope is that it’s not a mere slap-on job like the CB200X.
With no long-travel suspension, larger front wheel or even extra ground clearance, it’s essentially a Honda Hornet 2.0 with fancier clothing. With good bikes like the Suzuki V-Strom SX already in this space, we hope Honda gives the CB300X the changes it needs over the CB300F.

These extra bits could make this upcoming adventure tourer bike a solid competitor in the accessible ADV tourer segment. Well-priced bikes in this segment sell like hot cakes. But this is Honda we are talking about. Hence, while we are hoping for some sensible pricing, it will not surprise us if it arrives with an outrageous sticker price. The CB300F, when it was launched, had an unreasonable price tag, and received a price cut shortly after. We hope the same doesn’t happen for the CB300X.
