Here’re all the electric bikes and scooters currently sold in India that will carry you the furthest on a single charge, supposedly
When we talk about electric vehicles, one of the biggest challenges in adopting them has always been range anxiety. However, quite a few EVs in India have managed to mitigate this issue. Take a look at the latest electric bikes and scooters that currently have the best range in India:
Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2
Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Ultraviolette has launched the F77 Mach 2 Recon, which is an update to the previous-generation F77, in India. The F77 Mach 2 Recon is not only the fastest EV two-wheeler in the country, with a claimed top speed of 155kmph,it also offers one of the highest ranges, 323km IDC (Indian Driving Conditions). Additionally, the base variant also promises an equally impressive IDC range of 211km. Its 10.3kWh fixed battery pack (for the Recon variant) is the largest in the country and weighs about 70kg. Apart from looking stunning, the F77 also packs a bunch of interesting features including Violette Artificial Intelligence (AI), three levels of traction control and 10 levels of regenerative braking. The base variant is available at an introductory price of Rs 2,99,000, and the Recon variant is priced at Rs 3,99,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru), for the first 1,000 customers. The F77 range doesn’t come under the EMPS (Electric Mobility Promotional Scheme 2024).
Gravton Quanta
Second on the list is the Gravton Quanta from Hyderabad-based EV startup, Gravton Motors. The EV maker launched its first electric offering in the form of the Quanta, priced at Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom, Hyderabad including EMPS 2024). The Gravton Quanta claims to offer an incredible range of 320km! The caveat is that the range has been achieved at an average speed of 25kmph from its dual-battery pack. It’s powered by a 3kW in-house-built BLDC (Brushless DC) motor with a peak torque of 180Nm at the wheel. So, if you are looking for a no-nonsense electric vehicle with a long range, then the Gravton Quanta is hard to overlook. However, it’s currently only available in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.
Simple One
Simple Energy’s flagship electric scooter, the Simple One, is available at Rs 1.66 lakh (ex-showroom, including EMPS 2024). Compared to the one unveiled in 2021, the latest iteration comes with a slightly lower 212km certified IDC range. That said, the total battery capacity has gone up from 4.8kWh to 5kWh (3.5kWh fixed and 1.5kWh removable). Apart from that, the One is loaded with features like music control, navigation, geofencing as well as a tyre-pressure monitoring system. You can read more details in our launch report here.
iVOOMi S1 240
The iVOOMi S1 electric scooter’s top S1 240 variant stands third on this list. The electric scooter has an impressive range of 240km in Econo mode when ridden under 40kmph. It is powered by an IP66-rated 1.6kW hub motor backed by a twin battery pack with a combined capacity of 4.2kWh. This along with a claimed top speed of up to 57kmph should make it a great option for commutes. You can get one for Rs 1,21,000 (ex-showroom including EMPS 2024).
Ola S1 Pro
Ola Electric launched the S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter in India on August 15, 2023. Ola claims that the S1 Pro’s battery can be charged up to 75km in just 18 minutes from a fast charger. However, from a regular charger at your home, it’ll take 6 hours and 30 minutes for a full charge. So, if you are looking for a funky-yet, feature-rich and performance-oriented electric scooter, the Ola S1 Pro is the one for you.
