After a brief teaser on their social media channels, Triumph has now announced that they’ll be launching the Scrambler 1200 on 24 October 2018. However, no additional information has been provided regarding the motorcycle or its pricing yet, so expect these to surface only on launch.

From what we can tell from the spy shots, the Scrambler 1200 will likely be offered in two variants: one with cast wheels and road-going slicks, while the other might be a more off-road-focused version with spoked wheels and knobby tyres. From the looks of it, the underpinnings include USD forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, both with long-travel suspension. As is the case with most Triumph flagships, we expect it to come with a host of electronic features.

We expect the Scrambler to be powered by Triumph's engine from its heritage motorcycle lineup. This would mean the same 1200cc parallel-twin engine that powers the Triumph Thruxton 1200, which churns out 80PS of power and 77Nm of torque. However, it might be re-tuned for better off-roading capabilities.

We expect Triumph to price the Scrambler 1200 around Rs 12 lakh. Once launched, it will go up against the newly launched Ducati Scrambler 1100, which retails at Rs 10.91 lakh (all ex-showroom).
