Pre-bookings for the bike have already commenced
- Triumph will offer three of the five variants in India.
- It’s powered by a new 888ccc inline three-cylinder motor.
- Gets a new design with improved mechanicals.
Looks like we’ll have a number of launches from Triumph in June. The British brand has already launched the Bonneville T100 and T120 Black Edition in India, which will now be followed by the Tiger 900 on June 19. The Street Triple R is expected to follow suit towards the end of the month.
We already know that three of the five variants will make it to India: GT, Rally and Rally Pro. All three bikes are powered by the same 888ccc inline three-cylinder motor that dishes out 95PS of power and 87Nm (7Nm more than before) of peak torque. The internals are all new and the engine gets a new 1-3-2 firing order which gives it a throatier exhaust note.
In terms of underpinnings, the GT comes equipped with fully adjustable Marzocchi suspension at the front and the back, Brembo Stylema brakes, and dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. As for the more hardcore Rally and Rally Pro variants, they come with longer-travel Showa suspension, Bridgestone Battlax Adventure rubber, and Stylema brake calipers. Head here for a complete lowdown on the bike.
Expect the Tiger 900 range to be priced between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against the 2020 Honda Africa Twin and the BMW 900 GS which will be based on the F900 and the upcoming V-Strom 1050.
