The company says the initial pricing was introductory. So, an increase in prices was inevitable

  • The Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 and its variants along with the Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 are now dearer by Rs 1,000.
  • The two motorcycles were the brand’s first models to be updated to comply with BS6 emission norms.
  • Apart from the price hike, the bikes remain the same mechanically.

TVS has hiked prices of the Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 and the Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 for the first time. However, the hike in prices isn’t that much as the premium is just Rs 1,000 for both bikes. At launch, TVS had mentioned that the launch prices were introductory. That meant a subsequent increase in price was inevitable. Here’s a detailed ex-showroom Delhi price list:

Both the motorcycles were launched together and they were TVS’ first products in its lineup to be upgraded to comply with BS6 emission norms. Since the price hike isn’t all that big (at least for now), it is less likely to impact their sales figures.

TVS has equipped the two motorcycles with a new LED headlamp, fuel injection and a crawl function which makes going through slow traffic effortless. The bigger Apache RTR 200 4V also comes with smartphone connectivity which can display useful data like lean angle and g-force, among others.

While the Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 makes 0.77PS and 0.68Nm less and the Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 makes 1.3Nm less than their BS4-compliant counterpart, we’re happy to report that the drop in performance isn’t really felt. You can read more about the bikes’ capabilities here.

In terms of rivals, the Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 competes against the Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, and Yamaha FZ-S FI V3.0 BS6. On the other hand, the TVS Apachr RTR 200 4V BS6 will go up head-to-head against the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6.
