TVS had launched its flagship machine, the Apache RTR 2004V earlier this year and it was also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. However, there were no details available on its bookings until now. According to sources, some dealerships have started taking bookings for the Apache 200 for a token amount of Rs. 10,000. The official bookings are expected to start from the first week of April 2016.
This street fighter from TVS will be available in seven exciting colours - Matte Black, Matte Grey, Matte White, Matte Red, Matte Yellow, Gloss White and Gloss Black. The 200cc Apache comes in three trims. It is priced at Rs. 88,990 for the carburetted version, Rs. 1.07 lac for the fuel-injected version and Rs. 1.15 lac for the ABS & Pirelli tyres equipped model (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
Coming to the technical specifications, the TVS Apache RTR 2004V houses a single-cylinder, four-valve, oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine with a displacement of 197.75cc. Mated to a 5-speed transmission, the motor is tuned differently for each trim. It generates 20.7bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 18.1Nm for the fuel-injected version. For the carburetted model, the bike churns out 20.2bhp of maximum power. The RTR 200 4V has a 0 to 60kmph time of 3.9 seconds and sprints to a top speed of 130kmph.
In India, the Apache RTR 2004V will lock horns with the Bajaj Pulsar AS 200, the KTM 200 Duke and the Yamaha YZF R15 V2.0. Although the KTM and Bajaj motorcycles compete with the Apache by virtue of their engines, the R15 falls in the same price bracket.
