TVS Motor Unveils Bunch of Products at the 2014 IAE

TVS has also showed up at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo (IAE) with some upgraded and new products along with the concepts models. The company has introduced RTR 300 fx, a specifically built racing machine which has won the company several laurels including the recently concluded Raid De Himalaya Rally. New products showcased include the all new TVS Star City+ motorcycle and the all new TVS scooty Zest. A comprehensive showcase of the company’s current product line up including TVS Wego in new dual tone colours, India’s most fuel efficient scooter TVS Scooty Pep+, TVS Sport, TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS, TVS Phoenix  and recently launched TVS Jupiter add spectacle to the display. TVS Motor Company’s products that have been developed specifically for its Indonesian operations, namely TVS Dazz and TVS Tormax complete the display.

TVS RTR 300 fx:

This racing motorcycle has won the company’s racing team several podium finishes. Built by TVS Racing, TVS RTR 300 fx developed exclusively for racing purposes, is equipped with a 300 cc high performance liquid cooled power train,. This machine produces flat torque & delivers 160bhp per liter. Hydraulic control ensures progressive engagement and disengagement of the clutch to enable smooth power delivery. The motorcycles forks outer tubes are machined from light weight aircraft grade aluminium to facilitate agility. Aluminium wheel rims tethered by hydraulic mono shocks damped with nitrogen gas assist and harnessed by a cast aluminium swing arm give the bike lightweight and swiftness. 

TVS StaR City+:

Chiseled and muscular “flow motion styling” best describes the all new TVS StaR City+. This new motorcycle takes it roots from the legendary TVS StaR brand that already has a strong consumer base of more than 4 million consumers. The completely new, break away styling exudes a definitive road presence, endorsing the concept: style never goes out of style. The dynamic styling of the new TVS StaR City+ integrates seamlessly with its advanced 110 cc exo-thrust engine to deliver an unparalleled ride experience. TVS Phoenix:

Engineered to magnify the joy of riding, TVS Phoenix 125 is equipped with EcoThrust technology: dynamic tuning which regulates the flow of petrol to deliver optimum combination of power and fuel economy. This facilitates superior pickup while delivering lower fuel consumption. TVS Phoenix 125 is loaded with premium features and backed by an all new highly refined 125cc EcoThrust engine that provides excellent pickup with best in class fuel efficiency. The bike delivers high on premium style and comfort.

TVS Sport:

Improved, best in class mileage and best in class styling makes TVS Sport the best brand in its segment. The increased mileage of TVS Sport can be attributed to TVS Sport's DuraLife Engine which gives the benefit of reduced friction and provides less stress on the engine, leading to more efficient fuel consumption. Chrome Plated Piston rings, Roller Cam follower in the DuraLife engine leads to less friction. Redefined ignition timing and the overall low dry mass (99kg) combine seamlessly to provide the improved mileage. TVS Sport has the right mix of a powerful blend of high fuel efficiency, reliability and style.

TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS:

TVS Motor Company introduces ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) in its premium segment motorcycles TVS Apache RTR 180 in 2011. giving the bike formidable stopping power and superior braking control that compliments its high performance capability. Anti-lock Braking System or ABS technology is an integration of a HECU (Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit) and independent wheel speed sensors which help determine when a wheel is likely to get locked. When the brakes are applied hard, the wheel tends to lock. At this point, the HECU takes over instantaneously and modulates the brake pressure continuously to keep the 'Apache RTR 180 ABS' in the most effective braking zone while ensuring precise maneuvers. TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS can also clip-off a few seconds on a race track, thanks to late braking, faster exits and incredible stability.

TVS Scooty Zest:

TVS Wego:

TVS Motor Company has displayed its upgraded TVS Wego in new dual tone colours of Red-Black, White – Black and Grey-Black. The upgraded TVS Wego, targeted at young urban couples , comes in new monotone and dual tone colours in an black theme and several new features including a digital Speedometer, tubeless tyres, parking brakes, a stylish new muffler and a econometer. TVS Wego is an ideal  blend of stability, maneuverability, power and mileage  for dual usage. Powered by   a noise free, all aluminium , low friction 110cc CV Ti engine that has been developed by employing cutting edge technology including tailor made simulation models and frequency response analysis techniques, TVS Wego delivers high performance ride quality and superior ride comfort.

TVS Jupiter:

TVS Jupiter, the latest product to be rolled out of TVS Motor Company's stable offers greater comfort, convenience and several first time features. TVS Scooty Pep+:

Since the roll out of the first TVS Scooty, a product dedicated entirely to women, the brand has been kwon for its futuristic styling and remains the most exciting two wheeler brand for young girls. Over the year, the Scooty brand has had a steady stream of product innovation that has kept it on consistent growth path. With its category defining positioning “It's not a scooter, it's a Scooty!”. Scooty has become a generic name for the category.

TVS Qube Hybrid Scooter:

TVS Qube Hybrid Scooter is a plug-in parallel with dual power sources packaged with a custom designed lithium battery pack and delivers high performance at low emissions levels. The 110-cc low-friction petrol engine along with a 1kW high efficiency BLDC (Brushless DC) motor is coupled through an intelligent power transfer mechanism. It delivers power in four independent user selectable modes of operation (patents pending). Qube Hybrid Scooter can operate in a pure electric mode with 'zero emission' with an option to add bigger battery packs of 500WHr and 1000WHr for longer range in this ultra-green mode.

This vehicle has the flexibility of two options, which are meant for lowest operating economy or for 'faster zipping through' city experience. There is a default engine mode with complete independent electrical system that supports occasional longer travels and provides a full backup system for the electrical powertrain. An intelligent 32-bit micro-controller is custom designed and control software (patent pending) delivers pleasant driving experience in cities with a stunning emission reduction of around 40% while increasing fuel economy by around 30%.

TVS King Electric 3W:

TVS KING Electric Three-Wheeler is a new zero emission vehicle that is the culmination of our efforts to meet that much needed “green vehicle” that provides last mile connectivity. This vehicle operates with a 5kW high efficiency BLDC (Brushless DC) motor in combination with an intelligent 32-bit micro-controller with custom designed software modules (patents pending). The motor and controller are custom made for heavy duty commercial usage over many years.

The dockable and lockable (patent pending) multiple battery packs can be removed and replaced in under three minutes. The vehicle can accommodate 16 packs with a total of 8kWHr capacity offering a stunning 80-100kms range under standard test conditions. In order to have operation of the three-wheeler in extended range beyond the normal 80-100kms, we propose a novel compact TVS OASIS Range Extender power pack solution. This power pack contains a 5kW engine and BLDC machine coupled to operate as generator. The enclosed electronics is coupled by CAN to vehicle controller to start and stop at predetermined State of Charge levels of on-board battery pack in any small EV.
